The Texas Iron Spikes was established as an official University of Texas student organization on April 11, 1994. Although the organization's core values focused on community service, the Iron Spikes was also created to promote spirit for the University of Texas Baseball Team. In less than five years, the group captured two distinguished University Swing Out Awards (Best Service - 1998 and Most Outstanding Overall - 1999) and quickly became recognized as one of UT's premier organizations. Overall, the Texas Iron Spikes is a diverse group of male student leaders focused on positively contributing to the University and community through influential service, spirit, and leadership activities.
